I'm really excited to let you guys in on a little secret... I finally made the switch to mama cloth!! I've mentioned before that when I first came across the mention of cloth pads I was a bit disgusted. I mean, I don't even like to wear pads from the store because they give me this icky feeling that I'm sure I don't need to go into detail to describe. I should've prepared to have my mind blown with these lovely pads from The Naked Pomegranate.
They came to me wrapped in this lovely little ribbon. Though the prints were randomly sent to me, every single one would've caught my eye and been a top choice. This is a starter pack containing one pad measuring 9 1/2", one that's 10 1/2" and one that's 11 1/2". They are topped in an ultra soft minky with an absorbent core of Zorb and Bamboo fleece, and are backed with a waterproof fleece. They're also double top stitched for added protection.
There's a snap on them so that you can secure them to your undergarments and not have to worry about them moving around. The snaps are SO much more reliable than a sticky, flimsy piece of plastic. (Which face it, usually ended up not sticking at all or sticking to my leg.) They are applied using a professional snap press so you can be sure they're not going to let you down. =)
Overall, I love everything about these pads. They are comfortable, fit securely and because of the smart fabric choices you don't feel like you're wearing a diaper or have that icky feeling I referenced earlier. I rinse using my diaper sprayer then toss into my cloth diaper laundry. I do enough hot washes that it really doesn't matter. =)

**Disclosure: These are 100% my words and opinions. I was not paid to complete this review; I did however receive a complimentary product for review purposes.**

I really love that these pads are rectangular, they look so much more easier to use than the standard round ones.

ReplyDeleteKassandra,
ReplyDeleteNice review. Currently, I am using all organic and biodegradable products by MAXIM, amazing fit. These from Pomegranate sound really cool. The only thing is... washing. To share with you and the rest, I've been using my home-made washable pads from my very first period and until I was 22. After that, I found smth. organic and biodegradable. Love all designs, patterns, convenience of the Pomegranate pads, too!
Thanks for the review - This is something that I am going to have to investigate

HMMM My first thought is Gross having to wash them... but I bet they are more comfortable. Stopping by from the link on facebook group that was just started. Missy from Simplyraising8.com
ReplyDeleteI especially like the fruit print she offers! I've heard of Zorb being used in cloth diapers, but never in mama cloth before. This would add to my comfort level, knowing they're super absorbent like that.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the look of these pads!!
ReplyDeleteI have fallen completely in love with the print choices!!
ReplyDeleteI like all her patterns. I am now starting a stash so I want to try all different makes (all hand made, how cool.)
